Brief Description of Duties / Responsibilities

I act in a Sales Support capacity. I perform proactive data analysis to support my sales territory, as well as ad hoc reporting. I support 370 agents and their field product needs including: 46 consultations in 2013, developing a Regional retention enhancement process, and helping enhance customer experience through exceptional customer service.

What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?

Went from the couch to a half Iron Man triathlon in 10 months.

CWP Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CWP meant to you?

It was a huge opportunity for me to learn all aspects of a business.

How did your CWP experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

I landed an internship as a result of my time with CWP and am now full-time employed with Allstate.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

Thanks for the opportunity to let me work on your home! I only hope the opportunity was as rewarding for you as it was for me!

How has the friendships and networks you built during CWP affected you?

Matt Hill was a Groomsman in my wedding. He and I work very near each other and still continue our friendship today.

If you had to come up with an one line slogan for CWP, what would it be? :)

Everything is bigger in Texas.

What advice do you have for potential CWP participants? Current CWP participants?

Get a GOOD marketing team. Pay a premium price if you have to. Unless you really love cold-calling, you need someone to get your leads. Continuing to do all my own marketing was one of my greatest shortcomings because I didn't have the energy left to do everything else I needed to do.

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CWP. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

I think there are merits to both options. CWP is an all around view of how to run a business. You will get an understanding of the operations and the financials. You will also gain "stories" to tell in your interview, which are invaluable.

What's your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Show up early, work harder and smarter than everyone else, leave late.

What's your favorite memory from CWP?

Training on one of my customers sites with the team.

Last words of wisdom

Learn all that you can. Listen more than you speak. Don't be afraid to fail, fail....and fail again. Sometimes it will feel like 100 no's before you get the 1 yes, but the 1 yes was worth it.
