Brief Description of Duties / Responsibilities

I recruit IT professionals in the Pittsburgh area for open IT opportunities available. I source candidates through cold calls, job fairs, social media, etc. I also repair and service computers when needed.

What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?

One of my proudest accomplishments was the fact that I was the first and only person to ever be offered the job on the spot at my current company. I thank the interviewing skills to CWP.

CWP Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CWP meant to you?

CWP has turned me into an effective, sales oriented, champion business man.

How did your CWP experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

It definitely impacted my career upon graduating from CWP. I recruited as a DM for two years and conducted many daily interviews. CWP taught me how to ask the right questions and dig deeper to understand someone buying power.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

Shirley Lambert - 2009 Shirley was one of my greatest clients and best challenges. She was always attentive to detail and she was one of my toughest closes. She had no faith in the beginning but taught me how to be attentive to detail and I won her over in the end. She was a pleasure to work with and I was surprised when I received a condolence card when my gram passed away in 2011. She treated everyone with respect and was always caring about others.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CWP experience?

To fail forward and to never be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes help us learn how to improve and and become close to perfect in whatever we do.

What advice do you have for potential CWP participants? Current CWP participants?

Challenge yourself! If you think you are the best out there, and want to see what your potential is, do CWP. Do not be afraid to fail because you will fail at times. Failing is great because it will help you learn from your mistakes and become a more well rounded person. I can say I sold close to a million dollars in revenue before I was 23 years old. Not a whole lot of people can say that, but on top of that, I completely understand how a company is ran, from running one myself. It helps you out in everything you will do after. If you do the program make sure to ask as many questions as possible and learn as much as you can in 6 months because after you are done you will wish you had.

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CWP. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

Take on as many challenges as you can. Push yourself as much as you can. When you think you have reached your potential you have a ways to go. Success comes to those who challenge themselves more and more each day of the internship. Your DM's have ran large businesses and have the best advice you can find out there. They will change your life for the better to listen to what they have to say. They were in your shoes before.

What's your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

If you want to understand the business side of IT, CWP is the best internship out there. Other internships out there are made to push papers and do grunt work. No one wants to be doing grunt work. CWP is the best bang for your buck out there. I did CWP my sophomore, junior, and senior year. The main reason for that was because no other internship after my sophomore year could match the level of responsibility and challenge that I gained from CWP.

What's your favorite memory from CWP?

My favorite PG-13 memory were all the white water rafting trips. Flipping people out of boats and soaking my VP Lulu....nothing beats it.
