Brief Description of Duties / Responsibilities

Solo real estate agent, essentially running my own business working with clients in need of selling or buying a home.

What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?

The fact that I am a successful entrepreneur, working for myself as my own boss.

CWP Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CWP meant to you?

Taught me the responsibility of being a business owner, the hard work it takes to succeed, and the rewards of that hard work.

How did your CWP experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

Immediately after graduation, helped me know how to do sales in the real world, which was a part of my first job. It helped teach me how to take on responsibility and manage the multiple facets of running a business, which I use now in my real estate business.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

My clients were all awesome to work with! I appreciated their trust in me and my painters to do a great job.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CWP experience?

Hard work pays off, and it is better to be the boss than the employee.

What advice do you have for potential CWP participants? Current CWP participants?

Pay attention and implement all of what you are taught. If you do that, you will be successful.

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CWP. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

CWP is great training if you want to run your own business someday, whether that is after graduation or years into the future. As a real estate agent, you can join a team and it is more like a "normal" job with training, specific duties and responsibilities, and accountability. Or you can operate on your own as a solo agent, which is what I do (and in the future plan to form my own team and hire other agents to work for me). CWP absolutely helped prepare me for being a real estate agent, despite being a completely different industry. The principles learned in CWP are helpful for any future entrepreneur or business owner. And really, anyone wanting to work in the business world.

What's your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Work for a brokerage that offers 100% commission or close to it, and do your own training and marketing. Pays off in the long run.

What's your favorite memory from CWP?

Favorite memory is actually of being done with most of my jobs and having my painters trained and experienced and going on vacation while my painters finished a job for me... knowing that I was still making money while on vacation because I'd done such a good job early in the summer.
